Most Americans have never tasted real olive oil. For decades unscrupulous producers in Europe and elsewhere have dumped low, quality, mislabeled oils on unsuspecting consumers in the U.S.. Store shelves are filled with oils that are not "extra virgin" and often, not olive oil at all! How do they get away with it? Because most of the stuff available has for many years been of such low quality, consumers think that's the standard. It's not. Real olive oil is really, really delicious. You just have to get a hold of the good stuff!

These days, there is really, really good olive oil available from (generally) small producers in California, producers like us. We grow and care for the trees ourselves, hand harvest the olives when they get ripe, and get them to the press the same day they're picked. What comes out is a really remarkable food--fresh, flavorful, and super healthy.
